What are Sundays like?
How do I get to K2?

Sugar House Park Cleanup
06/30/2008
We all love fireworks and picnics on the 4th of July. We hope you'll enjoy the holiday festivities and then join us early the next morning to help clean up the park. Starting at 6:00 AM on Saturday, July 5, we'll do our part 'til 8:00 AM. We'll begin at the maintenance building on the south side of Sugar House Park and go around the loop. The park crew is always grateful for our help and appreciative of how fast the park is made clean and beautiful again. If you'd like to join in and help K2 give back to our community, sign up at the info booth in the lobby Sundays.

Living The High Life
06/19/2008
Part of what it means to be human is that we are constantly seeking after what will make our life good. Once we think that something will bring some pleasure, satisfaction, purpose or fulfillment to our life we begin to pursue it. At some level we are all hedonists. Author, John Piper takes a twist on this theme when he states that he is a Christian hedonist. He believes that this drive for pleasure was placed in us by God so that it would drive us to Him - the One who satisfies like no other.

What do you pursue that you think will give you the "High Life?" I am staring out my office window at the beautiful mountains that surround us here in Salt Lake. I often pursue an afternoon up there in search of the high life. In a half hour I will be going on a date with my wife. There are relationships that we have that we often look to that help provide us with the high life. I was sitting in our front yard yesterday morning and all I could think of was the front porch my wife and I would love to have some day. Having resources to provide possessions often is a pursuit that we go on believing they will help us reach the high life. Adventure, recreation, success, doing things to help others, comfort...the list goes on and on of the things we think will bring us the high life.

Have you ever considered the possibility that pursuing God would lead to the high life? Jesus said that he came so that we might have life and have it to the full. What is that life? Jesus said that he is the life. That is what we are going to be examining next at K2. If you are looking at your life and thinking that there is more than what you are presently experiencing, or sensing that somehow the path you are on is not going to lead you to what you are really looking for, maybe you will want to join us in our exploration of Jesus and the life He offers.

Even if you are a follower of Christ, you may be sensing that your relationship with Him is not producing the life you think it should. I believe this month will give you a chance to let God show you what He wants to do in you and through you to get you to truly experience His life in you. He is the High Life and He came to share it with us. Let's dive into this life and experience it to the full!

We will be spending the next four weeks in the 5th chapter of the book of Ephesians. You may want to read through it a few times on your own to prepare for the series. Ask God to reveal some things to you personally as you do. You may be surprised at how applicable His word can be!

Upside down and out of breath: That’s how we hope you’ll leave K2. We believe — rather strongly — that life should be An adventure with God... That's why our weekend services are designed to leave you on the edge of your seat! Living on the edge is where we like to be...And nobody knows more about living on the edge than Jesus. Without Him, K2 is simply a place where people merely cross paths along their way in life. With Jesus at the center, this is a place where you can begin a journey with God in your own way. Our unique small groups experience this all the time. This is your journey, and we invite you, and your kids, to stop by this weekend...and take a peek over the edge!
